About Maura
My focus through all my studies and experiences has been: to listen, embrace, learn from and embody the mystery of my own soul. This journey has led me to finding my strength in my vulnerability, several dark nights of the soul, and great joy. All of this, in order to live an authentic and heart-centered life and from that place of heart and authenticity to serve others. It has been a circuitous journey.
In 1986, I began studying with W. Brugh Joy, MD exploring psycho-spiritual development, energy healing and the mystery of this thing we call life. Early in my exploration with Brugh, I first consciously encountered the Divine Feminine. The Divine Feminine has been leading and teaching me since. One of my experiences with Brugh, was being included as one of 36 participants in a Women’s Healing Temple to consecrate the four directions on his sacred land in Colorado. I studied with Brugh until his death in 2009.
Continuing with exploration of the Divine Feminine, I attended several conferences facilitated by Jungian analyst, Marea Claassen. These conferences delved into Archetypal Patterns of the Feminine; explored what re-sourcing the Feminine means; and contemplated the Heart of Compassion, looking at the energies of Kuan Yin, Tara, The Goddess Isis, Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene.
Deepening my understanding of how we learn, I earned a B.S. in Cognitive Science in 1991 with an emphasis in metaphor, mythology, human development and transformational leadership. I received my M.A in Leadership and Spirituality in 1998, specializing in depth psychology, archetypes and the new, emerging paradigm. My thesis explored modern initiatory rites for women claiming their inner priestess.
As a certified facilitator through Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA), I worked in that capacity in the technology industry from 1992-1997. I graduated from and taught at Matrix Light Institute’s three-year Energy Healing Program called: The Art of Heartful Living. I have attended and studied many different energy healing systems, including: Reiki, Matrix Energetics, The Yuen method, and Garcia-Innergetics. I am certified as a Family Constellation facilitator after a year-long training with Scott Bader, DC.
I became an ordained minister in May of 2005. Through my ministry I am licensed to perform all rites of passages such as baptisms, marriages, funeral and memorial services. In addition, I have intuitive counseling and energy healing practice, helping others on their journey to wholeness.
For 10 years, I worked at the San Diego Cancer Research Institute (SDCRI). It was a unique program where practitioners in the healing arts provided cancer patients with free services for their well-being while receiving traditional cancer treatment. I provided clients with energy healing and counseling sessions. I was also the co-facilitator in the Cancer Support Group, the Caregivers Group and the Grief Group.
Last year, I completed a certified Trauma informed Coaching course based on the book: From Trauma to Freedom by Kristina Lea and Heather Ensworth, PhD. It is clear to me, that having a wholistic way to treat our trauma is essential to our healing, well-being and relationships and by extension essential to our world.
My work has focused on creating a loving, sacred container for others: to re-member who they are and experience their soul connection to Divine Source. And from that knowing, be empowered to embody and embrace their own life’s mystery.
Incorporating, all of the above learnings and experiences and continuing with my own soul work, I have come to a new threshold of exploring what it means to Create Sacred Union with self and other.
With the death of my husband and life partner in 2015, there was a cataclysmic shift in my life. I called it a shattering of all I knew and I had no way of knowing what if any pieces of my life would come together again.
Through the grieving process, reflection of our life together, my own inner process and my own soul patterns, what has emerged involves exploring the Masculine and Feminine, the relationship between the two and their Sacred Union. Believing that we all long for deep, intimate connection with an other, I have developed an approach that contains four principles that can help us achieve a meaningful relationship with ourselves and our partners.
Maura's presence is a gift to anyone who shares time with her. Her aliveness, vitality and true compassion… has sustained me in some of my darkest moments, and helped me find the truth of myself as embodied mystery.

The beauty of self-work with a coach is the opportunity to develop new gifts, spiritual values, meaning in life, wisdom, psychological growth, and coping skills at any point in life within a safe “container.” All of these I gained through my work with Maura. Most importantly, I gained tools and solutions that are everlasting.
